An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barking and Dagenham Talking Therapies Improving Access to Psychological Services for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist / or Counsellor/Practitioner to join the management team.

Main duties of the job

We are keen to offer this opportunity to a CBT therapist/Counsellor/Psychotherapist with at least 3 years experience in an IAPT service/primary care service undertaking operational duties, line managing staff and offering clinical supervision.

The post holder will demonstrate high standards of supervision, strong leadership and a commitment to team working. We are preferably looking for someone who has managerial and or supervisory experience as the main aspect of this role will be operational. The successful candidate will maintain a small caseload of clients in addition to his/her operational role, which will include performance management, budget analysis, managing sickness absences, health roster and supporting the team to meet Trust/IAPT KPI's. The post holder will also have knowledge and skills in using Trust & IAPT Data Systems.

The post holder will have a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy qualification orbe a HCPC registeredCounselling or Clinical Psychologist.

About us

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).High Cost Area Supplement - LondonThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of �4,313 and a maximum payment of �5,436 per annum).

Qualifications

Essential

  • Maximum score 4 NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Post-graduate qualification in psychology or a psychological therapy (e.g. clinical or counselling psychology, psychotherapy, IAPT training, PGDip)


Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working with primary care practitioners
  • Experience of working as a senior clinician in IAPT
  • Experience of managing staff and large NHS teams
  • Experience of auditing and evaluating projects
  • Experience of project management and delivering results within financial targets and set timeframes
  • Experience of delivering training and supervision
  • Experience of report writing


Knowledge

Essential

  • An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities
  • An understanding of the NSF for Mental Health
  • An in-depth understanding of the IAPT agenda
  • The ability to influence, persuade and facilitate
  • The ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders including service users and carers, commissioners and third sector
  • A commitment to anti discriminatory practice
