East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust Pathology Services are looking for a Histopathology / Cellular Pathology Quality Manager at AFC Band 8a whilst the current post holder is out on secondment. This post will report to the Head of Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs.
We are looking for someone with both technical and quality experience, who has the leadership skills to support both Histopathology departments with their quality, accreditation and governance processes.
The role is based across both Ipswich and Colchester laboratories. Ipswich is accredited to ISO 15189:2012 and Colchester has applied for accreditation and is currently awaiting assessment.
Main duties of the job
The Pathology Quality Managers will be senior members of the quality team. They will be responsible for engaging and embedding a quality culture with design implementation and maintenance of the Quality function of the service. They will work in collaboration with the Service Leads, Operations Manager, Head of Quality, to ensure that pathology becomes progressively more efficient in delivering a high quality service across both sites.
The Quality team will promote continuous improvement in service quality within all areas of the laboratory assuring regulatory and accreditation requirements to ISO 15189, MHRA, HSE, and others as required.
The post holders will need to work closely with all staff to ensure an efficient and effective corporate approach in dealing with all Quality and Training matters.
