The Clinical Systems Team provide training & a helpdesk service for all staff using the patient information system, Rio. The team also supports & trains staff in the use of BigHand Digital Dictation & provides access & instruction on the use of KMCR, PADS, PACs & MIG. An opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Team on a permanent contract providing training & front line support. Training is delivered within the classroom environment via video conferencing, also in one to one sessions and by visiting the teams at their bases. The applicant will also be required to support staff with any queries they have with regards to virtual smartcards and replace, or fix when required. Your role will contribute to the provision of good quality data in respect of electronic recording and support the information system as a complete clinical record, allowing the Trust to report accurately on its activity. You will ideally have training experience & you will need to have experience of working on a System Support desk supporting Rio, BigHand and Smartcards. It is important that you are an excellent communicator who can paint the bigger picture as well as conveying sometimes complex technical issues to the users of the system.

The role requires that you visit your allotted teams on a regular basis and therefore a full driving licence and permanent access to a car is absolutely essential.

This post requires a person with proven IT knowledge and the ability to support and administer information systems and have experience of delivering system training. As the point of contact for all enquiries, issues and concerns the ability to understand and implement the systems effectively applying their knowledge to operational situations highlighting risks, concerns and working with staff to find practical and lawful outcomes to a range of scenarios is a must.

The individual must be able to work to achieve agreed objectives, will have the ability and freedom to do this in their own way but must work to the best interests of the Team and Trust at all times. The post holder will be required to work flexibly and to manage their own workloads ensuring the Service Level Agreement for the Department can be met at all times.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Training qualification


Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Certificate in Education, PTLLS, CTLLS or DTLLS
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent


Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Experience of classroom and 1:1 teaching
  • Ability to assess IT skills
  • Excellent written communication
  • Understanding of NHS standards and Protocols for IM & T
  • Understanding of Information Security Principles including ISO27001
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with good command of Microsoft Office


Desirable

  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Understanding of NHS Data standards
  • Knowledge & understanding of legislation relating to Data Protection and Confidentiality


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of delivering clinical systems training to groups of staff who may have limited knowledge of IT or a reluctance to using IT
  • Experience of working with, supporting and administering information systems
  • Experience of working within a Clinical Systems team
