Acute Medicine AssessmentLevel 1 unit are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic experienced Registered Nurse to join the team as a Ward Manager. Level 1 is a 12 bedded monitored area where a 4:1 nursing ratio is delivered.
You will need to have these leadership roles and responsibilities, managing the care environment:
Previous experiencecaring for acutely unwell Level 1 patientscompleted in an acute hospital setting.
Professional knowledge and skills to provide mentorship and supervision to achieve competency and proficiency in practice for undergraduate students, newly qualified professionals and other learners, including apprentices and international trained professionals based within the ward.
Efficient knowledge and skills to be a role model, negotiator, influencer, motivator and inspirer.
Insight and ability required to make the care environment effective and safe, driving up quality standards of the clinical service provided.
Socio professional background and extensive knowledge and skills to maintain patient safety, advise on and contribute to clinical care, including care assessment, planning, risk assessment and evaluation of care delivery provided by the ward/department.
Committed to working within a team to deliver high quality care and will be able to work well under pressure.
Demonstrate self-awareness and understanding of personal accountability

On Level 1 we pride ourselves on our work ethic, teamwork and support networks. We are a small unit where no-one is ever left to feel isolated, we value great feedback from nursing staff, students and other external disciplines.
We take patients directly from ED under a variety of different specialties including but not limited to: gastro, neurology and infectious diseases. The post holder will gain a great insight into patients suffering from ailments under the scope of these specialties
Level 1 also has a dedicated clinical educator team, in association with DREEAM, who, along with the other members of the management team, are here to support staff in this busy environment.
We are also mindful of the importance of ensuring a good work-life balance and will therefore consider flexible and part-time working patterns.
