Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Information Analyst to join the Information Team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. This is a challenging and rewarding role, which will allow you to help make a difference for our local community.

This role is required to support the workload across various areas of the team, including project work for the rollout of new operational systems and the implementation of a new Data Warehouse which will be implemented during 2023.

This will be a varied and challenging role, for which we are looking for an exceptional candidate to work within the team managing tight deadlines and communicating with a variety of staff across the organization. The role will be very rewarding in using data to make a difference for patient services, through our operational teams and data submissions to external organizations.

We are committed to developing our staff and will offer suitable opportunities along the way. The analytics teams work closely together, sharing knowledge and technical advice in both structured training and informal sessions.

The Information Team are currently working in a hybrid way including both on site and remote working during the week.

Interviews will be held on 14th June.

Main duties of the job

The Information Analysts are required to mainly specialize in one of the operational divisions within the Trust, making recommendations for improvements where necessary in the monitoring of activity, performance, data quality and data collection systems.

The successful candidate will therefore develop expertise within these specific areas but will also be required to understand other areas of activity. The post holder will be expected to develop both internal and external reports, whilst helping end-users interpret the information provided. There will be an element of routine reporting and with the implementation of a new Data Warehouse brings the exciting opportunity to redesign the current reporting and allow for more interactive data sources for end users.

The band 5 analyst roles are more heavily focused on adhoc reporting and working with project groups to collate and interpret data, to establish the effectiveness of these projects. This will involve testing of new clinical data sources, alongside our digital services team and working with them on improving operational workflow efficiencies.

The role will need strong data analysis skills, excellent attention to detail and good communication skills. You should have experience in developing new information reporting solutions and have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL Server and ideally knowledge of PowerBI, Business Objects or Tableau.

We offer a wide range of benefits.
