An exciting fixed term opportunity has arisen as a Band 6 on the Renal Ward. We are looking for a dynamic and pro-active person to help co-ordinate the ward in order to maintain patient flow.
F8 is a 27 bedded ward specialising in renal medicine. F8 is a fast-paced ward that gives the nursing team the opportunity to work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, resulting in high standards of patient care, which is something we are all passionate about on F8. F8 pride themselves in being a friendly, welcoming and supportive team. We are keen on staff development and always looking at ways to develop new skills. We have recently undergone competencies in order to care for a new patient group with a Vascath line.
We are looking for a motivated and passionate member of staff who has an interest in Renal medicine. The successful candidate will be part of a leadership team and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and be dedicated to improving patient outcomes. You will be joining a well-supported team with opportunities for leadership development you will also, need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop other members of the team.

Main duties of the job
Acting as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise. Providing leadership on clinical shifts, managing the staff, coordinating the shift and ensuring patient safety at all times.
Active involvement in quality data recording and audit collection in order to ensure the patients are receiving the best possible standards of care and monitor for areas of improvements.
Staff development is a key element to the role of a charge nurse/sister, supporting the nursing team to develop and learn and ensuring the competency of colleagues. Alongside this the successful applicant will be required to complete appraisals for the team members, identifying learning opportunities and areas for development.
Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager
Assist in the investigation of complaints through the Trusts complaints procedure, using these as a learning opportunity and support the Ward Manager to change practice as a result, when appropriate.
Manage sickness and ensuring the ward is rostered safely and efficiently
