Job summary
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust provides a high quality and comprehensive range of Ultrasound services throughout the County of East Sussex from 3 locations (Conquest Hospital Hastings, Eastbourne District General Hospital and Bexhill Hospital). The department has recently benefitted from the installation of eight new state-of-the-art ultrasound systems.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical Specialist Sonographer. You should have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience and be able to perform a comprehensive range of examinations including general abdominal, obstetrics (including Nuchal Translucency scanning) and gynaecology examinations. In addition to this, you should have specialist Ultrasound skills in paediatric, vascular, small parts, breast, MSK or head and neck Ultrasound. Experience in clinical teaching/mentorship and managerial skills are advantageous. You will be expected to work independently and issue your own reports. CPD is actively encouraged.

Qualifications
Essential
- BSc(Hons) Diagnostic Radiography/DCR or equivalent in a health related specialty e.g. midwifery, nursing
- Post-graduate qualification in Ultrasound PG Dip or DMU HCPC or RCN Registration
Desirable
- Evidence of further training at Masters Level or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience in Ultrasound
Desirable
- Evidence of advanced level CPD in specialist skill area.
- Evidence of wide ranging experience within speciality
