An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke Therapy Team. You will work across the Hyperacute, Acute and Rehabilitation wards (rotations across the areas are every 6 months).

Salford Royal provides the Comprehensive Stroke Centre for the Greater Manchester Clinical Stroke Network. We provide Hyperacute Stroke care for people presenting with symptoms of stroke within 4 hours of onset from across Greater Manchester in collaboration with our colleagues in the primary and district stroke centres across the city. We are a research active stroke centre working with our colleagues in the North West Stroke Local Research Network and we are a designated Hyperacute Stroke Research Network and we are a designated Hyperacute Stroke Research Centre. We participate in National Stroke Audits including SNAP, Sentinel and in the International Thrombolysis Audit.

Main duties of the job

You will work with a highly skilled MDT to complete holistic OT assessment and treatment interventions in-line with RCP guidelines. You will be supported & supervised by highly experienced band 7 OT's and will work closely with Physio, SALT, Psychology, Nursing & Medical colleagues. CPD is supported & the service is continually striving for improvement.

  • Experience of working in stroke rehab services
  • Knowledge of RCP guidelines
