Job summary
The Anaesthetic Department at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital is looking to recruit dynamic and forward-thinking individuals to join our team of dedicated clinicians.
Our Hospital is the vascular centre for East Kent as well as providing all major urological surgery including robotics. The state-of-the art Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Canterbury provides the opportunity to get hands on experience and training with regional anaesthesia. Our day surgical specialties include dental and maxillofacial surgery, ENT, gynaecology, general surgery, paediatrics, ophthalmology and dermatology. Emergency theatre cover is provided daily.
The Acute and Chronic Pain service is a source of plentiful learning opportunities.
The Anaesthetic department and the Intensive care Unit at Kent & Canterbury Hospital are active in audit and research, there will be plenty of opportunity to participate in Quality improvement projects and Research.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the post include supporting the ITU and the perioperative management of surgical patients. Anaesthetic services are provided for elective and emergency surgery in the main operating theatre complex of 5 theatres. In addition, there are 2 day-surgery theatres, 1 endovascular theatre, 1 ophthalmic theatre and a new 4 theatre Elective orthopaedic unit. Anaesthetic services also support the MRI suite and the endoscopy unit.

- Have completed at least two years postgraduate training at CT1 and CT2 level in a relevant training programme, Completion of Initial Assessment of competence (IAC) and Initial Assessment of Competence for Obstetric Anaesthesia (IACOA)
