Job summary
Are you a qualified Nurse or an OT looking for new working opportunities then come and join us in being part of the new Family Safeguarding Hubs Service.
We are looking to appoint 2 band 7 Team Leader posts. These posts will manage two new small teams ( mental health team and a drug and alcohol team ) of nurses within the Family safeguarding Hubs.
You will hold current registration for your qualification and have 5 years minimum post registration experience. Ideally in posts where you have already gained managing experience.
You will have recent experience of working with parents who have/ have had involvement from children's services.
You will have experience of undertaking assessments focusing on complex mental health/drugs and alcohol/domestic abuse presentations.
You will have recent experience of supervising and managing junior staff.
Main duties of the job
You will provide and oversee a safeguarding response to Children's Services to cases in need of urgent clinical support and manage incoming referrals from Children's Services.
You will contribute to the achievement of high quality standards of care and deliver/effective leadership within a multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will supervise and manage junior staff/support the Clinical Service Manager (Adult) and Operations Manager (Children) with ensuring governance and evidence based practice is in place.
You will hold a small, complex clinical caseload within the designated care group that you are appointed to. You will provide and oversee a high quality clinical service to parents and their families where you will assess and deliver interventions/ consultations for parental mental health /substance misuse to locality Social Workers.

East Sussex Family Safeguarding Service is an exciting, innovative new service providing children, young people and their families with support and evidence based intervention focusing on problematic drug/alcohol use, mental health and domestic abuse. The aim is to provide this intervention in a timely manner, reducing risk and enabling families to stay together. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working with children, young people and their families. You will manage either the Drug and Alcohol or Mental Health team within the Family Safeguarding Team.
You will be employed by SPFT but work within East Sussex children services who are jointly commission with health and social care to provide the new Family Safeguarding Hubs model.

- To manage a small caseload of complex clients, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs. In particular for clients who have mental health/substance misuse/ Alcohol use.
- To ensure professional contribution associated to professional registration to the provision of quality clinical care and performance standards.
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of local services within a designated team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
- To be responsible for the team in meeting national and local performance targets
- To demonstrate outstanding leadership and management skills to ensure the ongoing development of staff and the service
- To provide regular clinical supervision as directed by the service manager.
- Gate keep assessments for junior staff ensuring these are in line with current guidance/ practice for Specialist Services
- Sound Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and other related statute and policies
- Knowledge and contribution to service development and related procedures such as Care and Treatment Reviews.
- To work closely with partners to produce and inform high quality care plans .
