This Clinical Psychologist role is an exciting opportunity for someone to deliver high quality psychology assessments, formulation, interventions and consultation and provide supervision and guidance to assistant psychologists and others as required within the Learning Disabilities Service for Children and Young People.
Main duties of the job
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of young people with learning difficulties using our services.
To supervise and teach unqualified staff including students.
Promoting a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues.
To support team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services within the learning disabilities service for children and young people.

- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with people from across the life span with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
- For roles in Learning Disabilities candidates should demonstrate experience of working with people with learning disabilities within a positive behaviour support framework
Desirable
- Experience of working with children and young people with a learning disability.
- Ability to adapt communication to not only support young people but also the MDT network.
- Adaptive way of thinking to meet the needs of the young people who may well present with complex learning disabilities diagnosis or behavioural challenges.
