An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team based at Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley in Holyhead

The successful candidate will work as part of the inpatient multidisciplinary team and will provide rehabilitation within an inpatient setting along with assisting to facilitate safe hospital discharges. The on-site Occupational Therapy team includes an additional band 6 Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Support Workers. The team works closely with, and are part of the community Occupational Therapy service and the locality Community Resource Teams.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The community hospital Occupational Therapist post is varied and involves inpatient rehabilitation, complex discharge planing and opportunities for multidisciplinary team working.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to work confidently in the assessment and treatment of patients within the clinical speciality.

There are opportunities to contribute to the planning and delivery of Occupational Therapy services, along with contributing to developments within the community hospital team.

The Community Occupational Therapy service has an established CPPD and peer support structure, along with support from the Team Lead and Clinical Lead Occupational Therapists.

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration


Desirable

  • Short courses at post graduate diploma level.
  • Short courses at post graduate diploma level.


Experience

  • Significant post graduate experience

  • Broad band 5 rotational experience.


Aptitude and ability
