Main duties of the job

We have multiple opportunities across all inpatient areas and have rotations or static positions within respiratory, acute respiratory medicine, critical care and surgery including head and neck, abdominal, breast and gynae-oncology surgery, cardiac & Pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory out-patients, medical rehabilitation including facilitating early supported discharge, surgical prehabilitation, and general inpatient rotation

There are also opportunities to become static in the above areas.

We also provide services to community hospitals within the wider area and to people in their own home.

Our services cover 7 days per week and the post holder will be expected to work some weekends and bank holidays. Use of own car for business use is preferable but not essential.
  • Ideal applicants will already be HCPC registered, however we are happy to consider PTs who are internationally trained and registered, or who are seeking to obtain HCPC registration. Those who don't currently hold HCPC will commence one band lower, at a band 4 and may then only progress to a band 5 pending competency sign off, to meet a satisfactory band 6 level.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide physiotherapy to relevant patients within respiratory, in a range of settings including inpatients, outpatients and patient homes.

To assess and treat patients in respiratory teams . To support the team in the organisation and provision of an efficient, high quality and coordinated physiotherapy service for patients on relevant clinical area . To undertake a defined clinical caseload. To ensure that patient and service standards and priorities are met.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Previous Acute NHS experience at Band 5 level, or similar
  • Achieved core skills in all core Junior rotations, including respiratory.
  • Evidence to support knowledge base in Respiratory.


Desirable

  • Previous Senior Experience in Respiratory/Surgery/ICU
  • Experience with line management of junior/non registered staff i.e. Supervision sessions, goal setting, appraisals


Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC registered. However we are happy to consider applicants who are internationally trained and registered, or who are seeking to obtain HCPC registration
  • BSc Physiotherapy


Desirable

  • Member of CSP
  • Member of Specific interest group
  • Post graduate qualifications in Respiratory
