We are looking for an highly motivated Band 7 Dietitian to join our integrated Diabetes and Endocrine team, to provide excellent inpatient diabetes care. This is a brand new post to the Hospital, which looks to enhance and complement our existing diabetes inpatient service and support provided by our adult acute dietetic team.
This is a 1 year funded project by NE London ICB . You will join a dynamic team based at Homerton Healthcare. As a growing diabetes service, meeting the needs of an expanding local population, the diabetes service currently provides a number of routine and specialist services, including dietitian and nurse-led clinics in the community and out-patients, ante-natal and pre-conception clinic, insulin pump clinic, multidisciplinary clinic support emergency reviews and managing routine and urgent ward referrals. We are also a recognised DAFNE and X-PERT centre.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical nutritional expertise to the inpatient with Diabetes.
Applicants should possess some clinical knowledge of diabetes, and be able to show knowledge of complex nutrition support. This should be supported by recent experience in caring for people with diabetes.
You should have proven management and leadership skills as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative and innovation, effective communication skills and the ability to organise your own caseload.
