Band 6 Surgical Bed LeadAn exciting opportunity has been created within the division of General surgery, Urology, breast T& O and burns and plastics at Wythenshawe Hospital for a Bed Lead to support patient flow for the division. The post holder will assist in the efficient and effective management of bed resources. The provision of an effective service encompassing all Directorates and is essential to successful patient flow across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The main objective of the role is to facilitate placement of elective patients, emergency and urgent admission requests, organisation of all internal transfers and repatriations to and from other Trusts. The post holder must have excellent communication skills as coordination with a number of different departments is an essential part of the role. The post holder must demonstrate clinical excellence in contributing to the management of patients and develop strong working relationships with various teams including respiratory .

The successful candidate must have an understanding of the A& E government targets and current issues that can affect the timely flow of patients through the hospital.
