At this exciting time in our development, We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed person with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (Hospital) who is interested in working in the Pharmacy medical team.

The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, work effectively as part of a team, be enthusiastic and have excellent organisational and communication skills. The candidate will also share our vision to deliver a high quality, cost-efficient service for patients.

The successful candidate would ideally have independent prescriber status, or be willing to work towards it.

Main duties of the job

With a strong focus on ward based clinical work, you will work together with our Medicines Optimisation Technicians to provide ward based clinical service to the Trusts busy Diabetes and Gastro ward.

The role of the successful candidate will include:
  • Providing medication reviews and pharmacy based clinical advice.
  • Working with members of the multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient care.
  • Prescribing as appropriate to the role, and personal expertise.
  • Supporting the specialist IBD and Diabetes nurses with patient care, and development of policies.
  • Support the trust Gastro and Endocrine Governance Groups
  • Support the Lead Pharmacist for Medicine in service delivery, service improvement and related governance issues and reporting to Gastro and Endocrine teams as needed.
  • Supervision of Trainee Pharmacists, and Band 6 and 7 Pharmacists.
