The postholder will provide specialist clinical systems expertise for a number of Trust systems that support clinical and operational delivery primarily the electronic patient records solution (RiO) but also including others such as electronic observations, patient messaging solution, systems interfacing solutions and bed management solution.To provide 2nd and 3rd line specialist product knowledge on the use of Trust Digital systems and processes and the resolution of product issues.Ability to explain clearly and resolve issues to non-IT colleagues in a professional manner at all times often with competing demands on time

Main duties of the job

Provide technical and management support on the identified Trust systems to ensure they are safe, effective and issues associated are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.Working with the Trust's digital trainers, produce training packages and deliver training to clinical and non-clinical staff on specific system functionality.Maintain the integrity and security of the system including setting up new users, user logs, access rights, unlocking user accounts and closing expired / dormant accounts.Lead on the implementation of software releases and upgrades, ensuring that changes made are delivered effectively and where possible zero service disruption.Work closely with the wider Business Service and IT Service Operations teams to ensure effective resolution to incidents and problems are in place and that learning is captured and shared.Delivers excellent customer services and highest standards of service to all stakeholders involved in the use and development of trust business solutionsWork with other leads and the principal developers to ensure the EPR service supports the needs of the organisation and to inform work schedules of assigned analysts and product specialistsImplement 'best practice' in the development of systems

Ensure related Trust systems are delivered safely, effectively and in a cost-effective manner.Contribute ideas in the development of Digital Services so it makes a positive contribution to patients and staff.To ensure all staff contact with the Digital Services function is of highest professional standard.The post holder will be encouraged to suggest changes to working practices or policies which may impact beyond their own area of activity and to implement policies and procedures relevant to their own work area.Provide expert knowledge on the functionality of EPR systemsLead defined projects of work to develop the products within the EPRRepresent the service/product at meetings or giving presentations/demonstrations as requiredAssist the developments manager to help manage key relationships with external customersCreate and manage relationships with engaged users, facilitating patient/user workshops as well as working in conjunction with other Leads to prioritise the developments of new requirementsRepresenting the product and management of the roadmap at regular steering group meetingsCreate product specifications and obtain documentation sign-off analysing and resolving complex business and user requirements requiring new developments.Identify and measure benefits prior to development of new functionality

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of specialist EPR System including system support and configuration
  • Evidence of continual personal development


Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Proven experience of managing business systems specifically those used within the Trust.
  • Experience of working with suppliers and colleagues to design and configure system functionality
  • Able to work independently and self-directed at times but also as part of a team
