We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated clinical pharmacists to join the Mersey Care Medicines Management Team. The Executive team at Merseycare recognise the value of pharmacy services and have recently invested a significant amount of additional funding to enable the transformation and expansion of clinical inpatient and dispensary services.
The service has been restructured to support this enhanced model and is working under a newly established senior management team which is fully committed to delivering outstanding pharmacy services and investing in the professional development of the pharmacy workforce.
We would welcome applications from pharmacists with primary care, community or secondary care experience who wish to transfer to a mental health setting what matters most is your empathy for working with those with mental health problems.
Recruitment and Retention Premia
There is a recruitment and retention premium attached to the above posts. Successful candidates will receive a �2,000 payment on joining the Trust and an additional �2,000 on completion of the first year of employment. In addition, there is a retention premia payment of �2500/annum.
Recruitment payments must be paid back in full if the employee leaves the Trust within two years of starting.
Shortlisting date is planned for 6th June 2023
Interview date is planned for 21st June 2023
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical advice and support to our inpatient or secure and learning disabilities mental health services.
You will develop and improve medicines management activities to promote the effective and efficient use of medicines, improving patient care and minimising waste. You will work as part of the Medicines Management team and be a core member of the inpatient multi-disciplinary team providing a clinical pharmacy service to in-patient areas. The role is very clinically focused and will require approx. 1 session per week to be spent in the dispensary in Maghull. There is a need to support on a 1/16 week basis with the Out of Hours Medicines Advice service and weekend working in the dispensary (10am-2pm).
