An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, proactive and motivated dietitian to become clinical lead for the University Hospital of Wales Nutrition andDietetic service within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
University Hospital of Wales is the largest teaching hospital in Wales and provides a wide range of acute specialties locally and regionally including major trauma, critical care, gastroenterology, haematological cancers including transplants, renal and renal transplant, cancer surgery for head and neck, upper GI and hepatobiliary cancers, spinal, colorectal, neuro, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, stroke and inherited metabolic diseases.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical leadership and operational performance of the UHW Dietetic service, in collaboration with the Strategic Lead for UHW Dietetic Services. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics for the performance of the UHW service and will provide expert advice on professional practice to ensure that nutrition and dietetics is appropriately represented in the strategic planning of acute services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is the operational manager of University Hospital of Wales dietetic services for Cardiff and Vale. You will have a clinical remit for a specialism within the acute secondary and tertiary portfolio of services dependent on clinical experience. The post holder will be responsible for the configuration and delivery of service provision for UHW dietetics, working with a team of operational leads for the adult dietetic service.
The successful person will have excellent communication and influencing skills, extensive experience of working in secondary/tertiary care settings, and have worked successfully with other professionals and stakeholders. You will demonstrate proven leadership experience and an innovative approach to service development and evaluation. You will be able to work on your own as well as within a multi-disciplinary team.
