We are looking for an inspired individual with Cardiology experience to lead our 3D Cardiology Short Stay Ward. The job will be suitable for senior nurses looking to advance their leadership and managerial career. The job offers the unique opportunity to bring your expertise to ensure safe and compassionate patient experience whilst maximising our capacity utilisation through innovative ways.
You will be leading the staff members to deliver high quality care in our 23 bedded 3D Cardiology Short Stay Ward at St.Bartholomew's site. Ward 3D manages patients with various cardiology conditions and acts as a step down ward for our 40 bedded Coronary Care units. 3D works closely with our partners in the sector to provide treatments for our Intra Hospital Transfers (IHTs) in close collaboration with the Advanced ClinicalPractitioners. We have the acute Heart Attack & Direct Arrhythmia Service supported by the 24/7 catheterisation labs offering world renownedemergency care to cardiology patients. 3D team is integral to the service in offering optimum flow and excellent patient care.

You will have a team of highly competent band 6 nurses, your peers from three other cardiology wards, clinical nurse educator and senior nursing teamworking collaboratively to achieve the Trust's vision of providing excellent care to our patients

Job responsibilities
To undertake the assessment of patients/clients with complex care needs.
To develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to meet theseneeds of the patient cohort.
To guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of patient/client care.
To initiate risk assessment processes to determine risks to the health andwellbeing of patients/clients with complex care needs, taking relevantaction to minimise these risks.
To lead a team of staff in emergency and other acute situations, ensuringthat the patients/clients needs are met and that significant others aresupported.
To utilise information and data from a range of sources to identify patientproblems and guide decision-making processes.
To promote service user involvement in the planning, delivery andevaluation of care, respecting their wishes, beliefs and dignity.
To independently liaise and communicate effectively with all members ofthe multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in the care of thepatient/client.
Attend Adult cardiac arrests, using skills in line with the ward acuity.
