Main duties of the job

You are self-motivated, reliable, with a positive can-do attitude. You must be a time served Multi-skilled Technician with experience working on reactive breakdowns & planned maintenance within a healthcare (or similar) building environment. A genuine multi-trade hard services background is essential, with any previous electrical training/practise an added benefit for the role. You will play a proactive role within a dynamic and innovative department, delivering key objectives to meet both departmental and Trust requirements.

You will work in our friendly, high performing Estates team across Berkshire, ensuring excellent service at all times. A great communicator, you will enjoy working with the Estates Supervisor and colleagues of the Estates team.

Working flexibly, you will enjoy working across multiple sites in Berkshire and have access to a BHFT pool-type road vehicle for business use only. Your energy and drive will be rewarded with the support of a dedicated team that strives to create a progressive, warm, friendly and considerate environment.

Working Pattern:37.5 hours + on call stipend (on call attracts additional payments of approximately �5,200/annum) + occasional overtime (as scheduled).

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential

• City Guilds or HNC - apprenticeship or NVQ equivalent. Or equivalent/comparable work experience.

Training

Essential

• Must have completed recognised apprenticeship, mechanical/electrical engineering or plumbing

Desirable

• Gas Safe registered

Previous Experience

Essential

• Experience in working in a service led maintenance environment working on a large variety of engineering services.
• Further post apprenticeship of 5 years' experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

• Knowledge of Plant and Machinery over wide range of skills, e.g. boilers, air conditioning, fire alarms, medical gases, sterilisers, nurse call systems and other equipment
• Work Supervision
• Participate in on-call rota
• Prepared to cross-trade work.
• Shall be able to communicate freely with all members of staff and clients.
• Ability to work alone and take the initiative in matters up to the individual's level of experience and knowledge

Additional Requirements

Essential

• Possess Driving Licence and be prepared to drive company vehicle that has a GPS tracker
• Physically Fit
• Maintain an acceptable appearance utilising at all times the overalls and identification badges supplied by the Trust
