Job summary
Would you like to be part of a forward thinking inpatient service? Ruby Ward are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join their team. Ruby ward is currently based at Medway Maritime Hospital, however will be moving to a new ward at the Priority House site (Maidstone) in October 2023.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the team as they move into a new purpose built ward. The design of the ward has been influenced by clinicians (including OT's) and will boast five gardens (including an Occupational Therapy garden), therapeutic spaces, an ADL kitchen and top of the range bathing equipment.
KMPT offers an extensive preceptorship program for newly qualified staff. The ward environment offers the opportunity to develop and promote core OT skills, such as running groups, carrying out Activity of Daily Living assessments, home visits and producing occupational therapy reports within a supportive team.
Main duties of the job
As Occupational Therapists we are positioned to shape the culture of inpatient settings to promote a therapeutic day that co-exists to enhance therapeutic interventions and recovery focused ethos on the units.
\Applicants are required to be a car drivers and have access to a car for home visits and assessments, unless supported by the Equality Act whereby the Trust will be expected to make reasonable adjustments for the successful candidate
Please be aware, although we are a Mental Health Ward, all staff are expected to wear PPE in line with Government Guidelines.
