An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Paediatric staff nurse to join the Paediatric Oncology/Haematology ward (Rainbow Ward) at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales.
As a team we strive to provide an excellent service, putting children and their families at the forefront of our care, meeting their individual needs. To support our service, we are looking for a friendly and approachable Registered Paediatric Nurse who is flexible, enthusiastic and able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Experience within a Paediatric Oncology/Haematology setting would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job

We are looking for a enthusiastic, vibrant Registered Children's Nurse to join our dynamic team at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales in Cardiff. The unit provides a high level service for children and their families from the whole of South and Mid Wales. We are the only Principle centre for children with Cancer and Haematology disorders in Wales.
Rainbow Ward is a 12 bedded inpatient ward. We care for patients with a number of oncology and haematology disorders. We also have a 6 bedded day care area that patients attend for outpatient care. Staff will often rotate between both areas. The daybed area also has it's own theatre which is used one day a week for treatments such as lumbar punctures under general anaesthetic.
As a staff nurse on the unit your main duties will be:
To be responsible for the assessment of care needs
Develop, implement and evaluate care plans
To be responsible for own group of patients
To advocate on behalf of patients to ensure the patient's voice is heard
Administer medications
Access central lines
The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
