Job description

Job responsibilities

Deliver regular updates to doctors, patients and their family members

Begin treatment and monitor doses

Respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate Doctors as needed

Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit

Complete all necessary paperwork before transferring a patient

Maintain patient records

Create and implement effective care plans

Providing medical attention to patients in the intensive care unit of hospitals and healthcare facilities

Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patients medical condition

Delivering regular updates to doctors, patients and their family members

Person Specification

Additional Criteria

Desirable

• Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and an ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centred approach

Experience

Essential

• At least 6 months NHS experience in that last 3 years

Qualifications

Essential

• NMC Registration & ITU qualified
• 6 months post preceptorship experience
