Would you like to be part of a highly skilled, well organized, friendly team? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Registered Nurse's to join the team our Medicine Team

You will play a pivotal role in the care of patients with acute and chronic general medical conditions. You will work alongside our dedicated team of Nursing staff as well as the wider multidisciplinary team, to ensure the smooth running of the service and maintenance of care standards. You will help us to provide a professional and empathetic service to the patients and relatives in our care.

The role offers you a chance to gain valuable experience and sound knowledge base of general medical patients and give you an insight into your future career goals and aspirations. We are lucky to have our own dedicated Clinical Educator who will support you, along with the team from the very beginning.

Full & part time hours.

It is a great specialty to start a career in nursing and for those looking for a new challenge as it offers opportunities to care for patients with many medical conditions. There are also more opportunities training to become Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Educators and specialist nurses

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with all members of the ward team clinical team within the multidisciplinary framework. Maintain a high standard of patients care under the direction of the ward Sister.

Act as a leader in the clinical area, in the absence of more senior members of staff. To work in accordance with the principles set out by the Nursing professional bodies and Trust Policies.

To support the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate health care service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate the NNUH Pride values.

There is the opportunity to work in one area or a rotational post in the areas of your choice.

We will offer the opportunity to undertake our 18-month preceptorship programme.

There will be the opportunity to attend development courses relevant to the specialty and on-site training including our new dementia training for 2023.

You will be supported to complete enhanced clinical skills and gain competency on the wards.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register
  • Mentorship preparation programme (or required to complete once in post) if applicable to clinical area


Desirable

  • Post registration qualification relevant to the clinical area


Experience

  • Recent experience of nursing in an acute hospital environment
  • Knowledge/experience of relevant speciality


Skills

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
