Job summary

This rewarding opportunity has opened up for a kind, aspirational and collaborative nurse in charge to join the Imperial Private Healthcare Team. Imperial Private Healthcare are responsible for providing evidence based care to our private patients, across three main sites at Imperial College Healthcare Trust.

The nurse in charge role will include managerial and clinical responsibilities , working collaboratively with the Consultants and the wider MDT to ensure excellent high quality individualized patient care is delivered timely and in line with national and trust guidelines.

The appointed candidate will be passionate and proactive in supporting the setting of a seamless pathway for patients in which patient experience is at the heart of decision making.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients that is compassionate and caring.
  • To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without supervision
  • To assist in leading and monitoring the performance of the nursing team
  • To deputise for the Senior Nurse when required

Person Specification

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse Teaching Qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development


Desirable

  • Leadership course
  • Graduate - BSC/MSC


Experience

Essential

  • Registered Nurse for at least 3 years
  • Have at least 12 months experience as a nurse in charge or deputy nurse in charge
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff and review of performance


Desirable

  • Private healthcare experience
  • Extensive experience with surgical cases


Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential

  • Evidence of applying current research to practice
  • Able to manage difficult situations effectively
  • Good basic IT skills
  • Good communication skills.


Desirable

  • Have an interest in professional development
  • Medical/oncology experience
