Main duties of the job

We are delighted to be able to offer a committed and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist the opportunity to join Northumbria Healthcare as part of our Staff Bank offering a flexible approach to work. The job provides variety to utilise core OT skills working across health, education and social care. The post includes working with children who have complex neurological diagnoses and developmental co-ordination disorder facing difficulties and challenges with functional life skills. We work in a variety of settings including clinics, home, school and nurseries.

Previous experience working with children and young people is essential. Knowledge of specialist equipment for children and experience of working with a wide variety of needs would also be desirable as our service is commissioned for health needs and social services equipment and adaptations provision.

We are committed to ongoing service development, providing participation in continuing professional development, student placements and clinical supervision.

  • Post registration experience in relevant clinical area

  • It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role
