Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Head of Site Operationsat the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role would suit somebody who is ambitious, resourceful and has a significant breadth of experience managing acute services.

We are looking for somebody who enjoys working in a fast pace environment, bringing the team on that journey whilst enabling the delivery of patient flow throughout the site. You'll work in partnership with Site Corporate Nursing and Care Groups teams and play a pivotal role in ensuring the best health outcomes for our communities.

You will work under the remit of the Site Director of Operations in the delivery of all PRUH and South Site initiatives and programmes of work that sit outside of or involve multiple Care Groups. You will be the key link across a number of areas related to site operations and work collaboratively to deliver the integrated care agenda with; Emergency Planning team, London Borough of Bromley and SEL CCG colleagues

Main duties of the job

This post will lead the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards related to patient flow, and the development of leadership capacity within the Clinical Site Team (CST) and Discharge Coordination Team (DCT). You'll provide credible and dynamic leadership in the delivery of the complex service and/or operational challenges and changes facing the clinical landscape. This will be in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints.

You'll be a key member of the Site Management Team, enabling the delivery of patient flow in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints as set out in the business plans for the services delivered by the Site Executive Team.

You'll manage the CST and DCT, providing all necessary support to the overall leadership, direction and management of the teams, working closely with the Care Groups, Leadership Team, whilst providing assurances to the Site Executive Team. You'll monitor and review clinical and professional standards and in liaison with the Site Director of Operations and Care Group management teams, monitor and manage service performance related to patient flow, instituting remedial action where necessary. You'll ensure that all touch points within the entire patient pathway understand the importance of their roles, and are able to deliver the best possible patient care, and where best practice is shared and in turn, celebrated.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Masters level qualification or evidence of post graduate study (or equivalent experience)
  • Current NMC or HCPC registration, UK
  • Extensive knowledge of staff management/financial management and change management, including sound knowledge of public involvement
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in the operational management of hospital services
  • Experience of working strategically to translate strategy into operational planning and performance management
  • Able to lead, motivate and influence individuals both within and external to the organisation
