Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Batholomew's Hospital as our Director of Nursing and Governance.

The role will report directly to the Hospital Chief Executive, with a professional line to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and you will be accountable for the delivery of the professional nursing agenda at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The role has specific focus on workforce, education, clinical effectiveness and patient safety as well as professional practice, research and innovation and patient experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a skilled compassionate and inclusive leader who will provide strong professional leadership across all care settings, encouraging innovation, creativity, and strategic thinking about service provision and staff experience.

The successful candidate will be joining a management team who will support you so that you are able to flourish in the role alongside being a key player in the wider Barts Health NMAHP leadership community. There will be many opportunities for both personal and professional development.

  • Significant Senior Nurse leadership Experience either at Deputy DoN level or divisional level
  • Acute Hospital Leadership Experience
  • Can demonstrate a track record of successful delivery

  • Demonstrate solid professional decision-making ability and able to manage complex professional clinical issues
