Job summary

The post holder will provide extensive project management support to a variety of projects. Working with key stakeholders across the Trust, the post holder will be pivotal in delivering projects through effective planning, coordination and execution, whilst ensuring that robust monitoring and evaluation processes are in place, throughout the project lifecycle.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and coordination to key projects and initiatives, with a focus on delivery and execution of project deliverables
  • Work in collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, across the Trust, to ensure effective communication channels are in place
  • Develop and put in place robust and consistent processes to manage key pieces of work
  • Ensure project documentation is in place that is aligned to the SlaM PMO methodology
  • Support the PMO team with any other duties that may be required.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: a. To identify the key benefits from implementing changes to working practices and service pathways and develop improvement plans that include the identification of key milestones and risks. b)To work with and develop relationships with key stakeholders to oversee the robust and effective delivery of new working practices and patterns. c)To work with clinical teams to ensure that there are robust operational plans for services that reflect agreed and improved ways of working across all aspects of clinical care which underpin the delivery of high quality and safe patient care. d)To work in collaboration with key stakeholders, to develop approaches for monitoring the implementation of service improvements. e)To act as a resource on all aspects associated with strategic change and transformation programmes . f)To plan and implement a systematic roll out of service improvement initiatives linked to improving quality, productivity and efficiency within agreed timescales. g)To evaluate all aspects of service improvement initiatives and oversee the roll out of the agreed approaches from pilot areas across the Trust. h)To effectively communicate with staff to promote the benefits of the Trusts improvement approach. I)To provide regular updates, progress reports and risk reports.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree and/or Masters or Equivalent qualification
  • Project Management Qualifications eg. Prince 2 or MSP or equivalent relevant experience


Desirable

  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing change in an NHS environment.
  • Developing and leading on new ways of working to improve practice within clinical and non-clinical environment


Desirable

  • Experience of leading service improvement projects in an NHS mental health environment
  • Experience of working collaboratively with clinicians and managers
  • Project management experience


Knowledge / Skills

Essential

  • Prioritisation and time management skills
  • IT literate and knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft applications including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook & Teams
  • Understanding of how mental health services work
  • Skilled in formulating new solutions and then managing the solutions through to completion and implementation


Desirable

  • Awareness of key strategic NHS and mental health initiatives in the local area
  • Knowledge of how to assess the quality impact of delivery change in a Provider organisation.
