Then look no further...................we are offering two year fixed term training post in our newly established Skills, Education and Training Hub at Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner training Programme aims to develop clinicians with the necessary relevant knowledge, experience, skills and competence to provide a robust, holistic and continuing service to meet the needs of the local population within the primary care setting.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing leadership as required. As a trainee, you will work alongside a dedicated training team; a Clinical Practice Development GP & Non Medical Clinical Practice Development leads.

Main duties of the job

This full time two-year fixed term contract will provide an intensive, rich, learning environment, supported by a range of learning opportunities including completion in two years of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and clinical practice hours tailored to meet the needs of the individual. This will enable the clinician to progress through a range of milestones developing both educational and practical knowledge to achieve the level of practice expected of an advanced practitioner.

Your course fees will be paid by the Health Board. You will be employed on Agenda for Change Band 6. Trainees will be employed on a two year fixed term basis.

Previous Experience

Due to the nature and intensity of this scheme, and for applicants to be able to gain as much experience and value from this pioneering programme, it is expected that applicants will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience or a minimum of 12 months clinical patient facing primary care experience, this can be gained for example in:
  • Community Services
  • Community Pharmacy
  • Out of Hours
  • Ambulance services
  • General Practice
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy

Essential Requirements
  • Member of a regulated profession e.g. NMC, HCPC, GPhC
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Health or Social Care Professional- Registration with appropriate body e.g. NMC, HCPC etc
  • Relevant Degree in professional area or equivalent evidence of clinical ability and academic study
  • Post Graduate Diploma in relevant subject matter or equivalent evidence of clinical ability and academic study
  • Evidence of on-going professional development


Desirable

  • Experience in teaching and mentorship
  • Mentor/teaching Qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Considerable post registration experience at Band 5 or above in a patient facing role
  • Experience of working in a patient facing Primary Care setting
  • Experience of managing patient with chronic conditions and complex needs
  • Developing therapeutic interventions to improve service user outcomes
  • Broad range of clinical experience
  • Assessing and managing risk in a clinical setting


Desirable

  • Service development experience
  • Leading change
  • Developing higher levels of autonomy
  • Experience of delivering education and or training.
