Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Specialist Nurse within the Enhancing families team within Knowsley borough.

The role is to develop the 0-19 Health and Wellbeing services working in partnership with the Local Authority, partner agencies and Primary Care Team, providing intensive support to families requiring additional input and intervention, in order to improve outcomes for parents and their children.

Main duties of the job

To provide a holistic, health and wellbeing service to parents and children aged 0-2 years in line with the healthy Child Programme and other evidence bases.

To Identify and prioritise health care needs of families and facilitate a programme of input so that the family are empowered to travel along their journey of change.

To develop and deliver health care and health promotion, using evidence based practice and professional leadership and management.

To contribute to the development of best practice and facilitate shared learning to develop services and initiatives that meet local needs, in relation to aims and objectives of Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

To develop effective links with key people in delivering services to enable people to improve their own health.

Lead and support the skill mix within the team in the delivery of safe and effective care to children, young people and their families. Deputise for Service Lead as required.

  • Willingness to undertake personal study to develop understanding of a range of clinical areas
  • National and local safeguarding policies

Qualifications and Professional Training

Essential

  • Nursing or midwifery qualifications and registered with the NMC
  • Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Masters level education
  • Willingness to undertake specialist postgraduate training and be assessed on competence in clinical field following training
