An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated senior nurse to apply for the post of Matron in the Division of Medicine for Specialist medicine at The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital . The Specialistmedicine Matron role covers wards 83 and 85 and a number of tertiary specialist teams, including Cardiology, Respiratory and CF, Rheumatology, Long term ventilation, Gastroenterology and Endocrinology. You will be joining a cohesive and dedicated multi-professional team who strive to deliver the highest standard of patient and family centred care.

You should be a senior Pediatric registered nurse with sound clinical and managerial experience and can demonstrate the desire and ability to provide strong and visible leadership and facilitate team learning. You will work alongside the Head of Nursing, Lead Nurse, Clinical Lead and the Divisional Director to lead and manage the nursing team developing and sustaining a positive team culture whilst ensuring quality of care, staff management and patient experience are key priorities.

Main duties of the job

The Matron will support the Head of Nursing Lead Nurse, Divisional Director and Clinical Directors in the delivery of operational and delegated budgetary management of nursing, quality and standards of care.S/he will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and relevant departments internal and external to the Division to ensure the delivery of responsive individualized patient care developing and supporting nursing staff to respond to the transforming nursing agenda.
