*Provide evidence based occupational therapy (OT) interventions to a caseload of clients to ensure good clinical outcomes. The post holder will be required to work with the client to assess their needs, identify goals for the occupational therapy intervention, to evaluate the outcome and maintain patient records (paper and electronic). This will require the use of clinical reasoning skills.
*Provide therapeutic group work to ensure good clinical outcomes. The post holder will be expected to work alongside OT team, Social workers, Psychology and other MDT colleagues.
*Use audit and research to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the service provided.
*It is the responsibility of the post holder to complete risk assessments to ensure that risk in the service is managed and reported as required. All occupational therapy staff are responsible for the safe use of equipment including ensuring the competence of staff, carer and patients.
*Maintain Professional OT Registration with the HCPC

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- International Occupational Therapist registration

- Experience of applying the Occupational Therapy process
- Experience of using standardised and functional assessments and activity analysis
- Experience in use of outcome measures
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Experience of mental health issues
- Basic skills in Occupational Therapy functional and standardised assessments, activity analysis, goal setting, individual and group interventions, and evaluation methods to support best practice
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and their families, both verbally and in writing
- Able to manage a caseload of clients
