Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed apprentice to work within the Cardiology service line. The Admin Apprentice role will provide administrative support to the Cardiology team in order to support the delivery of key performance standards.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

To provide admin support within the appointed area in the medicine care group.
This post is part of a professional team working within the medicine care group. The key responsibility of this role is to provide a reliable and efficient administrative and clerical support function within the service line.

Job responsibilities
The post holder would be trained on the job through a combination of instruction and practice and by attending Patient Casenote, Information Governance and iPM training.
To ensure that a clear understanding is obtained surrounding data quality and data protection and be able to work to this guidance.
To have a knowledge and understanding of the APNs (Administrative Procedure Notes) regarding the preparation and management of patient casenotes.
To follow the correct procedure as outlined in the appropriate APN when identifying a patient with an alert on iPM.
To cover reception for lunchtimes/annual leave/sickness.
To prep required clinics in a timely manner with the correct paperwork required
To ensure that the Patient Document Tracing (PDT) system is kept up to date with the movement of patient casenotes both into and out of the department.
To follow Trust procedures for the requesting of patient casenotes in time to ensure adequate preparation. Once received organising contents of the patient casenotes to comply with the Trust standard filing format.
As a part of the role the post holder is required to go to other parts of the hospital to collect patient case notes.
To action any post, telephone, e-mail or written requests for patient casenotes promptly from other areas/hospitals.
The post holder will be required to access the departments filing system and print specific patient clinic letters to enable validation of waiting lists to take place. There will be a need to identify from iPM dates of clinic appointments to assist in identifying the correct letter.
