We have recently undergone expansion of the Health Based Place Of Safety (HBPOS) at the Redwoods Centre, and are looking to recruit Band 5 nurses to join our new and exciting team. The new place of safety (136 suite) consists of a 3 bedded unit, with secure outdoor space, assessment and office space and has been equipped with brand new furniture.

Main duties of the job
- The role will involve co-ordinating MHA assessments, liaising with West Mercia Police and CRHT, the approved mental health practitioner teams, and the local community mental health teams with regards to section 136 and Section 135 Mental Health Act assessments.
- It will also involve the delivery of focused clinical interventions prior to the Mental Health Act assessment whilst in the HBPoS.
- When the place of safety is not in use the post holder would be expected to align with the acute wards as directed by the site manager.

- As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high quality clinical service to service users and their families and carers.
- This is a brand-new team with the opportunity for you to mould and shape your position
- You will participate in therapeutic group work programmes as well as taking the lead where appropriate. You will be required to administer medication and assess each individuals care needs in order to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- You will also be required to support student nurses on placement.
- Key skills for this role are: Good Communicator, Caring, Compassionate, Good leadership skills, ability to Use initiative, Communicate with external and internal stakeholders and a good Understanding of mental health symptoms to appropriately monitor and participate in patient care.
- You will need to be NMC registered and you will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and Professional guidelines.
