Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and innovative Clinical/Counselling Psychologists with experience of, and a keen interest in mental health, to work within Guildford Community Mental Health Recovery Services (CMHRS)
This role is part time 0.75WTE, 28hrs per week
The post holder would be working with adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties. In particular, people with complex trauma, personality disorder and psychosis. You would be working with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who greatly value the skills and expertise of our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists.
Knowledge of working with high risk, complex mental health difficulties and experience in group therapy work and project work would be essential. Training and experience in an evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT is essential. Training and experience in third-wave CBT models such as ACT, DBT, CFT would be desirable.
Main duties of the job
Your clinical work would involve providing assessment, formulation and psychological interventions to CMHRS clients, and consultation to the MDT. The post requires good teamwork skills and enthusiasm for working with a challenging client group. The Trust has a strong commitment to maintaining contacts with psychological services elsewhere in the Trust, CPD and clinical supervision. Strong links also exist with Surrey University doctoral training courses and trainees are taken regularly on placement.
The post holder will work closely with other Psychologists in the teams as well as across the locality.

- Experience of working with people from across the life span with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapy.
- Training and experience in an evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT.
- Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group.
- Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development / project work.
- Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists.
