Job summary
Applications are invited for Specialist Grade Doctor in Emergency Medicine to commence as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
This is a new role in Emergency Medicine at MTW. The Specialist Grade Doctor will work independently/autonomously in the Emergency Department at senior level.
The desired candidate would have extensive experience in Emergency Medicine and provide evidence of autonomous working and decision making. They would also have experience of teaching and supervising junior doctors and AHCPs.
The successful applicant will also be expected to take on formal supervisory roles within the department - acting a s a clinical supervisor to juniors.
Once agreed locally the applicant would be eligible to join the on-call rota.

Clinical duties of the posts include:
- To liaise between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives in order to support safe care
- Lead in board rounds, ward rounds and other related daily unit activities
- Provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as and when needed as requested
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation
- Participate in the Emergency rota
- Other duties as directed by the Clinical Director
- To provide a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility.
- To participate in clinical and other service activities and developments with the aim of ensuring a high standard of patient care across the Trust.
- To work in close co-operation with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues, both within and outside the specialty, to provide high quality health care to the Trusts patients, and to make a contribution to future thinking about the Trusts strategic direction
