Job summary
Aneurin Bevan Health Protection Service are seeking to recruit an experienced analyst looking to expand their knowledge in health protection and health inequalities.
As part of the analytical function, the post holder will be required to analyse and interpret complex data sources relating to health protection, infectious diseases and environmental threats to provide comprehensive quality reports for all internal and external requirements.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, hard-working, highly motivated, and core Data and Analytical team member.
This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an integral member of the Aneurin Bevan Health Protection Service within the Data and Surveillance team.
As part of the data and surveillance function, the post holder will analyse and interpret complex data sources relating to infectious diseases and environmental threats to provide comprehensive quality reports for all internal and external requirements.
Undertake deep-dive analysis to triangulate data and provide statistical and epidemiological briefings to various audiences.
The post holder will support the ongoing reporting infrastructure of developing a robust, accurate, sustainable reporting framework, including automating reports through Power BI.
The post holder will support the wider health protection system, including other communicable diseases and supporting programmes addressing health inequalities to provide rapid information from reliable sources for discussion and decision-making at incident management meetings.
The post holder will be part of a continuous learning and development culture, including delivering bespoke analytical training sessions to NHS Wales staff and non-NHS colleagues.
The post holder will provide analytical expertise to support the quality improvement cycle and service design.
