Main duties of the job
We are currently recruiting a Level 2 Social Worker to work within the arena of Adult Social Care within a specialised Adult Safeguarding Team. The team consists of Practice Leaders and experienced Social Workers who receive Safeguarding enquires following a threshold decision being made. The role entails seeking further information regarding the Safeguarding allegation and then making a decision if the allegations require an enquiry to investigate the concerns or if the Safeguarding enquiry can be closed following further analysis and risk mitigation
Excellent analytical and written skills are required for this post and professional decision making and risk management skills are imperative.
The Level 2 position will be in recognition of your experience within Social Care including Adult safeguarding, Care Act assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments.

The position is supporting the Older persons with physical disability teams across Staffordshire which are community based teams working with Adults over 18 years of age with a range of physical and Mental health needs. You will be office/home based and this is not a patient facing role.

The post holder will be required to take responsibility for their own Continuous Professional Development.

Essential
- Professional Social Work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA or Foreign qualification where certified by the Professional Social Work regulatory body
- Ensuring current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body at all times.
- To hold/to undertake and achieve the status of Approved Mental Health Professional and/or Best Interest Assessor as per the SWLA Career Pathway
- To undertake and achieve the status of Work Based Supervisor and Practice Educator as per the SWLA Career Pathway
- Good keyboard / IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and PowerPoint
- An ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.
- A clear understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
