They run an impressive acute specialist service for mental healthcare, Newham Centre for Mental Health, to provide care for mental health crises and less critical admissions in a 24-hour, seven days a week, supporting, and safe environment. Newham Hospital also offer a range of other clinical services to help those struggling with their mental health, ensuring that all care is individualised, tailored to each patients unique needs, and promotes recovery and inclusion.

- assessing and planning nursing care requirements
- organising workloads
- building relationships with, reassuring, and listening to and talking to patients
- combating stigma and helping patients and their families manage it
- administering medication
- agreeing and reviewing care plans and monitoring progress
- giving advice and arranging support for patients, relatives and carers
- liaising with doctors, social workers and other professionals
- assessing treatment success at case conferences and meetings
