The People Directorate has an exciting opportunity for a Programme Change Lead - Workforce Development and Recruitment, within our Education and Organisational Development Team. This pivotal role within the Trust will support us to deliver our strategic people ambition: to be an attractive employer of choice, developing and retaining highly skilled, engaged and diverse people reflective of our local communities.

The role will also support the Trust to deliver key elements of the NHS People Plan and ensure the experience of our staff reflects the commitments made in the NHS People Promise. EMAS is therefore actively looking for an experienced and proactive candidate to join our 'emazing' People Directorate team.

Main duties of the job

This role is a Programme Change Lead role and therefore the successful candidate will be experienced in delivering workforce transformation, specifically through the development and delivery of annual and long-term organisational workforce plans.

The successful candidate will also lead on the development and delivery of attraction, recruitment and selection models and new ways of working to deliver the workforce plan alongside specific aims to increase diversity within the Trust and ensure education and development pathways that support career progression and talent management.

About us

The successful candidate will contribute to governance processes across the portfolio of the post, and lead, monitor and engage a specific governance group with a focus on workforce planning. They will also contribute to wider strategic priorities, providing expert advice and support. There will also be a requirement to consider national and regional initiatives, best practice and implement feedback from all stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure continual improvement. This role will be responsible for the Recruitment team and will be expected to provide compassionate and supportive leadership, knowledge, and experience to ensure that the programme is progressed effectively to the best of the team's ability, leading to a smooth journey and successful outcome.

Hybrid working is available, and the successful candidate will be supported to work flexibly and at home, and across our three main education centres and other sites within the East Midlands to carry out the role.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive senior management experience in a complex delivery environment demonstrating delivery of change and operational planning
  • In-depth professional knowledge and experience of working across multiple teams and disciplines to deliver programme outcomes to plan and time
  • Experience of leading workforce transformation and planning programmes
  • Competent and experienced in designing and delivering strategic plans
  • Experience in leading and managing teams


Professional Development

Essential

  • Educated to Masters level and professional qualification (or equivalent knowledge and experience at masters level)
  • Further training or experience in project management or supporting change management processes.


Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrable leadership, strategic thinking, planning and analysis skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to support the management of change
