This is an opportunity to work as a Public Health Nurse within the Integrated Specialist Public Health Nursing Service (ISPHNS). The post is paid at 33 hours per week, hours annualised to be worked in term time only.

The successful candidate will be based at Unit A Bessingby Industrial Estate Bridlington working with the Bridlington team. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will support delivery of service needs for the West Wolds team and across the wider ISPHN team area when required.

You will be a Registered and are required to be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for all children, young people and families.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake work delegated by ISPHN (Health Visitor) or ISPHN (School Nurse) which will include: supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme parenting programmes health needs assessments health promotion activities and Secondary School Drop-Ins.

Person Specification

Qualifications and knowledge

Essential

  • Current registration on the NMC register
  • A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation, and guidance relevant to the clinical area, e.g., Children, Young People and their families.
  • Good assessment and screening skills.
  • Ability to analyse and implement evidence base and best practice.


Desirable

  • Full understanding of relevant clinical practice/standards within identified clinical area.


Experience

Essential

  • Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in a relevant area of clinical practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care.
  • Willingness to undertake and where relevant complete preceptorship, facilitating the transition for newly qualified nurse booklet and core competency development programme.


Desirable

  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation


Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills and work flexibly within the team/service.
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
