Technology is transforming the way people receive and use NHS services. It is also changing how organisations connect with each other to improve and provide seamless care.

Do you want to be part of this exciting digital transformation?

We are recruiting a Training Manager for an innovative, forward-thinking programme that will bring huge benefits for staff and the communities we serve. Effective training will play a significant part in a successful implementation with the work beginning from the very start.

East Cheshire NHS Trust and Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are jointly creating a new electronic patient record (EPR), which is known locally as the Digital Clinical System (DCS).

The DCS will replace current paper-based records with one comprehensive source of digital information that is available at multiple locations.

This state-of-the-art system will allow frontline clinicians to record and view information on a range of devices, giving staff access to data at their fingertips. It will also have a number of modern clinical tools that help colleagues to provide the best care.

By giving our staff access to the right information, in the right place, at the right time, we will play a crucial role in supporting efficient and effective care, maintaining safety, improving patients' experiences, and meeting increasing demands.

Main duties of the job

The DCS is one of the largest projects ever undertaken by either of our organisations and it forms an integral part of a clinical transformation programme that will be enabled by digital technology.

Reporting to the Head of Business Transformation with the supported of our Trainers, our Training Manager will be responsible for the delivery of our Training Strategy.

Applicants should have experience of working in training in a digital delivery setting, with a passion for transformation change methods. Experience in an acute healthcare setting is an advantage.

The role will demand attention to detail against demanding timescales, requiring strong people management skills and the ability to build effective rapport with stakeholders.

About us

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.

The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its 'Be Safe Be EquiPPEd' campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE. The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.

At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.
