Job summary
Responsible for providing support to develop and improve Digital Services' business, performance and governance management. Responsible for delivery in 2 main areas of business development of the Directorate:-o Development and implementation of effective workforce planning;o Ensuring the Directorate has appropriate business governance models in place that are operating effectively.Digital Services is a growing directorate and the Health Board is becoming increasingly reliant on Digital solutions to support its staff, patients and citizens to improve the health and wellbeing of our population. The Workforce and Governance Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the Digital Services Directorate recruits and retains the best people with the best skills and capabilities available to deliver and support effective Digital solutions.
The Directorate is focused on continuous improvement and the role will underpin this by providing the appropriate governance arrangements in place to manage risks, respond effectively to incidents and complaints as well as opportunities to further develop Digital Services' response to internal and external audits. Lessons learnt from these arrangements will be communicated and acted upon to improve the services provided by the Directorate.
This is a pivotal co-ordination and communication role to ensure consistency and high performance, along with being instrumental in supporting the staff, compliance and governance work of the Directorate.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Communicate with senior managers both inside and outside of Digital Services as well as establish good relationships with external stakeholders including Universities and Colleges, Local Authorities, other Health Boards/Trusts and Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) using all mediums of communication.
- Co-create and go on to manage the Directorate's Workforce Plan, regularly reviewing and improving it over time.
- Manage the Directorate's Risk Register and supporting governance arrangements to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Manage the Directorate's response to incidents and complaints to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Manage the Directorate's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request process to ensure that responses are appropriate and timely.
- Manage the Directorate's governance arrangements for audit to ensure that internal and external audits are appropriately responded to, that recommendations are implemented in a timely manner and support service improvement.
- Manage the Directorate's governance arrangement for policy management to ensure that all Digital Services policies are reviewed and updated in a timely manner in accordance with the Health Board's Policy on Policies.
