We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic Business Manager with a can-do attitude to join the busy and forward thinking Public Health Dietetic Team. As Business Manager you will provide business management for the department and management support to the senior team, ensuring our information, reporting and financial systems are effective and efficient and continuously improving across our services.
Our Public Health dietetics team works with partners to build the capacity of communities, working through our Nutrition Skills for Life programme to support healthy lifestyles and prevent malnutrition. Our aim is to equip community-based staff with the nutrition knowledge and skills to incorporate nutrition messages into their work, employ more local people as community food workers and strengthen community food and nutrition input into areas of health inequality.
The successful candidate will work for the Public Health Dietetic team service, based at Riverside Health Centre for 22.5 hours per week.
This is a fixed term for 10 months to cover service needs
Main duties of the job
Your primary responsibility, as direct report to the Strategic Lead of Community Dietetics/Clinical lead for Public Health Dietetics, is to support the senior management team in financial, information and business development /support functions. You will provide more specific management support to the operational leads within this team e.g. reporting on performance management data. You will hold a key responsibility for financial forecasting, budget setting processes, ordering and monitoring. You will be involved in funding bids and new project development within the department.
You will have advanced experience in Office365 and confident in using a range of software packages. As part of your role you will take the lead in updating the current IT systems and databases to Office 365 and supporting team members with this. You will lead on the development of a new staff induction package and oversee all UHB mandatory training provision throughout the team.
You must have a helpful and flexible attitude and a willingness to work as part of a busy team, leading on business and financial management throughout. You must be able to think strategically and use your initiative, approaching new workstreams and new challenges calmly and positively, with an eye for detail. You will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
