Job summary
We are seeking a part time Clinical Research Fellow for 12 months to run a feasibility study consisting of two interventions arms consisting of having either 3D printed or 3D virtual models of prostate anatomy available to surgeons during robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy. This is a fully funded feasibility study by The Urology Foundation with the aim of investigating the effect 3D models have on the reduction of complications resulting from surgery.
Main duties of the job
In this role, the post holder will be responsible for the execution of the study which involves the access, collection, anonymisation, presenting model to surgeons, and analysing the results. Specifically, the candidate will investigate the effect of 3D virtual and printed model have on the reduction of positive resection margins immediately after surgery and functional outcomes at 3 months after surgery. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in doing research applied to surgery in urology and ideally applied to prostatectomy. Candidates are expected to see demonstrable experience in the urology-related interventions, as well as data analysis and preparing results for submission to high impact factor journals.
