Job summary

We are looking for an exceptional leader to join a team of Associate Directors for People, working together to lead the implementation of our People Plan at the RUH. The Associate Directors roles will be crucial in delivering key aspects of the People Plan.

The AD for People - Culture Change is a fantastic opportunityto play a huge role in making the RUH the best place to work it can possibly be. Our NHS Staff Survey results have aspects that are good, but our aspiration is to make them the very best. This postholder will have a key role to keep a continuous focus on staff experience throughout the year, ensuring that staff experience feedback is the most important data we receive, given that how are staff feel is so closely linked to the quality of the services we provide. To succeed in this role, you will need a real drive for improvement and boundless enthusiasm for improving our working environment, so we can make the 'You Matter' vision a tangible reality. This role is well suited to someone with strong engagement and change management skills, who understands the psychology behind what makes for a really great workplace, and who is passionate about inclusivity.

Main duties of the job

To thrive in this Associate Director for People role we anticipate that you will be drawing on extensive experience in demanding people management / HR roles and will be effective at managing large portfolios of work. We are looking for you to have the confidence to work autonomously and be a credible and knowledgeable people leader, who is keen to really understand our services. Above all you need to be able to win the hearts and minds of our workforce, be kind to others, whilst encouraging them to make the best contribution possible.
