Main duties of the job

Role ResponsibilitiesWorking Relationships and Communication Requirements of your Job.1.Maintain good relationships between all members of staff, thus developing professionalism throughthe unit.2.Identify, discuss and report any relevant nursing/patient needs with team/ ward staff, patients.3.Ensure good communication verbally and via formal documentation and electronic sources with allmembers of the nursing, multidisciplinary team, patients and families.4. Work in partnership with the patient and family and other health care professionals in care/dischargeplanning.5.Involve patients and carers/family in their care to ensure accurate information and establish goodcommunication.6.Accept responsibility; be aware and able to locate all policies relating to good working practice withinthe clinical area and able to adhere to both by self and colleagues.7.Ensure effective two-way communication with all disciplines so that patients receive optimum care.8.Recognize the legal implications of accurate and legible documentation, and maintain accurate andlegible records of patient care, in line with Trust policies and NMC Code of Conduct.9.Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies pertaining to patient confidentiality/DataProtection Act/Caldicott Recommendations.

  • Registered General Nurse and RN with current NMC registration.


Knowledge & Experience
