Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, Quality Manager to join our team. This post will be based in Manchester at the Saint Mary's Centre but the post holder will oversee the quality and UKAS accreditation at both our Manchester and Liverpool SARC sites. The Saint Mary's SARC services at Manchester and Liverpool deliver high quality medical, therapeutic and forensic services for children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual violence.

The successful applicant should have experience in working in a quality management environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, resourceful individual with a desire to ensure that a quality management system is implemented, maintained and complies with the FSR standards and ISO 15189. They will also provide advice to technical staff to ensure the requirements of accreditation are achieved and maintained. The successful applicant will lead staff in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and method validation. They will also plan, manage, and maintain an audit and proficiency testing schedule.

Person Specification

Essential and Desirable

Essential

  • Educated degree level or relevant experience
  • Extensive understanding of standards it relates to UKAS ISO 15189 registration and accreditation and Forensic Science Regulator's Code of Practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Systems and the process of external accreditation
  • Experience in quality management
  • Experience of writing Quality System policies and procedures
  • Ability to assess and interpret complicated and conflicting information and use judgement where appropriate
  • Ability to write and present complex reports and to critically analyse and communicate ideas in complex situations
  • IT, information, project, and time management skills


Desirable

  • Proven knowledge of national and local Quality priorities and improvement schemes.
  • Experience in creating and storing record in formats acceptable to regulators
  • Experience of developing strategies, policies, and business plans
  • Experience of working alongside external colleagues and regulatory bodies
  • Qualifications and courses associated with Quality Improvement/ Service Improvement
  • Experience of risk management
